Clarke Carlisle

Clarke James Carlisle ( born October 14, 1979 in Preston ) is an English footballer who is currently at FC Burnley under contract, but on loan at Preston North End. He plays preferably in the position of a defender.

Career

Carlisle began his career as a teenager in 1997 when Blackpool FC before he was brought in 2000 by the Queens Park Rangers for a quarter of a million pounds. In 2004 he moved to Leeds United and then after one year for Watford FC, who loaned him for one season at Luton Town. Since 2007 he plays after a lengthy knee injury and personal problems now with FC Burnley as a central defender.
