Clarke Dermody

Clarke Dermody ( born April 22, 1980 in Invercargill, New Zealand) is a New Zealand rugby union player. He plays as a pillar. He was nominated for the first time in 2006 for the All Blacks for the international match series against Ireland and Argentina.

Dermody has completed 31 games for the Highlanders in the Super 14 and 69 games for Southland in the National Provincial Championship. His first two matches were against Ireland during the June test matches.

He was born in Invercargill, New Zealand and went to the Southland Boys' High School. He played for Woodlands in the Invercargill Premier Competition.

In 2007 he stated that he has signed a 2 ½ - year contract with the English club London Irish, who resigned in November after the Rugby World Cup 2007. He was one of many New Zealand players who went to the World Cup to Europe.

On 18 May 2007 Dermody missed the nomination for the World Cup squad of the All Blacks, but he was appointed to the Junior All Blacks for the Pacific Nations Cup.
