Classic Endurance Racing

The Classic Endurance Racing (CER ) is a racing series founded in 2004 in the historic motorsport for GT cars and touring cars and sports prototypes of the years 1966 up to and including 1979.

Rules

Eligible are currently only vehicles that have participated in at least one of the former endurance race in Le Mans, Sebring, Daytona, Brands Hatch and Monza, Spa -Francorchamps, the Nürburgring and Silverstone.

The racing series covers Grid5 and Grid6 the Le Mans Classic and is a qualification step to participate in the eye transmitted at intervals of two years Le Mans Classic.

The Classic Endurance Racing series consists of five races in about one hour. By 2009, the championship went to as part of the 1000 km race of the Le Mans Series, comes with two independent runs since 2010 partly its own way. A race weekend consists of a training session, two each 30 minute qualifying session and a race of one hour. Each carriage can be controlled up to two drivers. In order not to penalize cars with multiple drivers, each participant has to go to the box between the 25th and 35th minute. And stipulate a standing time of one minute during the pit stops, regardless of whether a driver change is necessary or not.

Professional cyclists are allowed in the series though, but they no championship points will be well written and therefore do not take part in the championship.

The grid is divided into four groups:

  • Proto1: Sports prototypes built and used 1966-1972
  • PROTO2: Sports prototypes built and used between 1973 and 1979 inclusive
  • GT1: GT and touring cars built and used 1966-1972
  • GT2: GT and touring cars built and used between 1973 and 1979 inclusive

2010 race

  • For the first time 2010 Minimum weights for prototypes are defined in the season.
  • Prototypes of the class P1 to 1971 have no set minimum weight, regardless of the capacity of the engine
  • All prototypes in the class P2 ³ at 3000 cm Displacement have a minimum weight of 600 kg
  • Prototypes with engines > 3000 cm ³ of 1972-1975 have a minimum weight of 650 kg
  • Prototypes with engines > 3000 cm ³ of 1976-1979 have a minimum weight of 700 kg
