Claude Bouhier de Lantenay

Claude Bouhier de Lantenay (* October 19, 1681 in Dijon, † June 21, 1755 ) was a French bishop.

Life

Claude Bouhier was the son of Bénigne Bouhier law officer ( Président à mortier ) the Parlement of Dijon. His mother was Claire de la Toison. His brother Jean Bouhier - not to be confused with the eponymous predecessor in the episcopate, his uncle - was in 1727 a member of the Académie française.

Claude Bouhier was commendatory of Fontaine -Daniel, Prior of Pontailler and Vicar General of the Diocese of Langres. He was also provost of Saint- Etienne in Dijon, where he also lived. By deed dated December 8, 1723 appointed the second Bishop of Dijon, he adopted on 8 May, the diocese per procurationem in possession and received on 26 March 1744, the consecration.

Bishop Bouhier adopted new diocesan statutes. He died in 1755 in Dijon. His heart was buried in the crypt of the cathedral bishop of Dijon.
