Claude Hêche

Claude Hêche ( born December 20, 1952 in Porrentruy, hometown entitled in Cornol ) is a Swiss politician (SP).

Life

Hêche began his political career in 1983 in the Parliament of the Canton of Jura. In 1985 he became a member of the municipal council of Courroux and served there from 1988 to 1994 as mayor. In 1995 he became Executive Council, a position he held until 2006.

Since his election in 2007 Claude Hêche sits in the Senate. He is a member of the Control Committee, the Defence Commission, the Commission for Transport and Communications and the Political Commission. At the beginning of the winter session of 2012, he was elected on 26 November 2012 for one year at the second Vice- President of the Council of States, at the beginning of the winter session in 2013 for a year as the first vice president.

Hêche is by profession a draftsman and lives in Courroux. He is widowed and has two children.
