Claus Biederstaedt

Claus Biederstaedt ( born June 28, 1928 in Stargard in Pomerania ) is a German actor and voice actor.

Life

After the beginning of medical studies Claus Biederstaedt attended the Music Academy in Hamburg and received acting lessons from Joseph Offenbach. As a theater actor he played among others at the theaters in Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Cologne and Wiesbaden.

1952 Biederstaedt was in the great temptation of his film debut, and received the German Film Award for Best Young Actor. From then on he was one of the most popular performers of the German film, always nice and like, a typical representative of the German cinema of the fifties. In later years Biederstaedt also appeared frequently on television.

Since 1960 Claus Biederstaedt worked as a voice actor. He often lent his voice to Marlon Brando (including in Last Tango in Paris or Queimada ), James Garner ( German standard synchronous voice since Rockford Files: Just call ), Peter Falk ( Inspector Columbo ), Vittorio Gassman (including Life is a novel or Love with sharp curves) and Yves Montand (including César & Rosalie or Vincent, Francois, Paul and the others). In the TV series Space Patrol (1966 ) he spoke the introductory text " What now seems like a fairy tale ... ". As a narrator from the off he came among others in the TV production "It may not always be caviar " (1977 ) are used. His voice was also heard in advertising. The most famous commercial with Biederstaedt was in the early 1990s of the Audi Procon - ten system.

Biederstaedt also worked as a theater director and directed, among others, 1985 The Devil's General, 1986 The Captain of Köpenick and 1993 Gerhart Hauptmann's Before Sunset. He stood about 300 times along with actresses Karin Dor and Angélique Duvier in the play The neuroses Cavalier by Gunther Beth on stage, most recently in 2008 in Essen.

The Bild newspaper reported in December 2011 that Biederstaedt three quarters of his tongue had been amputated because of cancer. That person will never be able to work again as an actor in his profession.

Claus Biederstaedt is married to his second wife and has a son from his first marriage.
