Claus Schall

Claus Nielsen Sound ( born April 28, 1757 Copenhagen, † August 10, 1835 ) was a Danish composer.

Sound was initially Tanzeleve at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen, later he became a violinist, 1776 coach, 1792 and 1817 concertmaster conductor. Under his guidance, found in 1822, the Danish premiere of Carl Maria von Weber's opera Der Freischütz instead. He composed twenty ballets, several musical comedies, violin concertos and pieces for violin and basso continuo.

From his brother Peder Schall ( born December 30, 1762 Copenhagen, † February 1, 1820 ibid ), who worked as a cellist in the court orchestra and guitar virtuoso, solo and choral songs with guitar accompaniment have survived.
