Clemens Timpler

Clemens Timpler (* 1563 in Stolpen, † February 28, 1624 in Steinfurt ) was a German philosopher, physicist and theologian. Besides Jakob Degen he considered the most important Protestant metaphysician; he founded the Protestant Reformed Scholasticism.

Life

Timpler studied in 1600 with his fellow students Bartholomew Keckermann in Leipzig philosophy.

On April 4, 1595 he became professor of physics at the high school Arnoldinum in Steinfurt and taught there until his death.
