Cleomedes (crater)

130.77

Cleomedes is a big crater on the moon northeastern front on the northern edge of Mare Crisium, south of the crater Burckhardt. The crater interior is relatively flat, except for a number of secondary craters, a central peak and extending in a north-easterly direction groove Rima Cleomedes. The crater wall is terraced.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Greek astronomer Cleomedes.
