Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival

The Festival du Court - Métrage de Clermont -Ferrand is an international short film festival in the French city of Clermont -Ferrand. In terms of visitor numbers and industry interest, it is the second largest film festival in France after the Festival International du Film de Cannes.

History

Before the actual start of the festival there was with the short film weeks of the Cercle Universitaire de Clermont- Ferrand Cinématographique ( CCUC ) between 1979 and 1981 a festival predecessor. The success of this initiative led to the 1981 founding of the organization Sauve qui peut le court métrage whose goal is the public appreciation of the short film. The festival was soon able to achieve a broader effectiveness and establish itself. In 1988, Clermont- Ferrand was transformed from a national to an international short film festival.
