Cliff Bennett & The Rebel Rousers was a British beat band of the early 1960s.

History

After the first single by Cliff Bennett & The Rebel Rousers was published in 1961, the band of a press agency was already referred to as the "beat group number 1 in London ." However, only the acquisition of management by Brian Epstein brought the breakthrough. Cliff Bennett was an absolute teen idol after One Way Love was raided in October 1964 to number 12 in the UK singles chart.

The next of her recordings were unsuccessful before they first came then with a cover version of the Beatles album Revolver ( " Got To Get You Into My Life " ) under the top 10. The song, however, should be much better known in the interpretation by the Beatles themselves.

In 1970, Bennett released the Rebel Rousers on and formed Toe Fat, a progressive group that grossed two LPs. However, when he had little success with Toe Fat, Bennett used again the old group name. In October 1972 he produced under Toe Fat on Chapter One yet another single.

Cliff Bennett & The Rebel Rousers processed in their songs of pseudo - rockabilly -soul PseudoMotown to all popular rhetoric of popular music of their time. In its early days occasionally played Frank Allen of the Searchers and as a studio musician became known Nicky Hopkins at them with.
