Climont

Climont, hamlets and mountain

The Climont sits as a mighty red sandstone block on the bedrock of granite. A special feature is its striking trapezoid shaped summit. On Climont the Breusch and the casting, both tributaries of the River Ill. In the spring 670 meter high Climont Weiler, a former Mennonite colony, there is a road connection from Weiler -ins Breuschtal.

Until 1871, the Climont belonged to Lorraine the Vosges, Alsace since become. 1897 established the Vosges Club on the top of the 17 meter high Julius Tower (Tour Jules ), which is named after the then Chairman Julius Euting. From the platform offers a view over the means Vosges.
