Club de Fútbol Oaxtepec

The Club de Fútbol Oaxtepec was a Mexican football club from the same small town in the state of Morelos. It was founded in 1979 under the auspices of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social ( IMSS ), the Mexican Institute of Social Security. This device of the Mexican government in 1943 by the then President Manuel Ávila Camacho in response to similar demands of the working class to life and has the objective of maintaining the health of the population and promote. Under the direction of the IMSS took place in the early 1980s and the establishment of the much better-known club Santos Laguna.

History

The originally as CF Oaxtepec - IMSS, launched club started 1979/80 in the third division, which was won at once, causing the immediate promotion to the second division succeeded. In the season 1981/82 Oaxtepec also won this league and thus rose to the Primera División. There, the club finished second in the seasons 1982/83 and 1983/84, first the 16th and then the 15th place of 20 participants, so that the team from relegation Morelos was always able to prevent their own. What they could not prevent was the sale of the license for the season 1984/85 on the Angeles de Puebla. So perhaps in a rising begriffener star had disappeared again after five years.

Famous Players

Probably the most famous personality of the Halcones ( falcons), as the nickname of the troops was, was married to a Mexican Argentine Ricardo La Volpe. The later coach of the Mexican national team ( during the 2005 Confederations Cup and the World Cup 2006) ended here his goalkeeper career at the end of the 1982/83 season and was here in 1983/84 his coaching debut.

Other well-known players were Jorge Alberto and Víctor Manuel Vucetich.
