Codex Mosquensis II

The Codex Mosquensis II ( Gregory -Aland no V or 031; von Soden ε 75 ) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament, which is dated to the 9th century. The handwriting is not completely preserved.

Description

It consists of the four Gospels on 220 parchment leaves ( 15.7 x 11.5 cm) with gaps ( Mat 5.44 to 6.12; 9.18 to 10.1; 22.44 to 23.35; Jn 21, 10 - end ). The text is in a column with 28 rows. The letters are small, the text is accentuated.

The manuscript contains the Epistula ad Carpianum, Eusebischen tables, tables of κεφαλαια, Ammonianische sections Eusebischen canon, and lectionary markings.

The Greek text of Codex represents the Byzantine text-type and the category V is assigned.

History

The manuscript was formerly in the Vatopedi monastery on Mount Athos and was succeeded in 1655 with many other manuscripts to Moscow.

The manuscript was examined by Christian Friedrich Matthai and collated. Konstantin von Tischendorf use of Matthew 's book. Gregory saw the manuscript in 1868.

The manuscript was examined by Kurt litter.

The Codex is kept in the State Historical Museum ( v. 9) in Moscow.
