Coldwater is a village in Mercer County in the U.S. state of Ohio, about halfway between Columbus and Indianapolis. The village has good 4,500 inhabitants (as of the census of 2000).

History

Coldwater was first settled in 1838 and officially established in 1883. 1908 laid the entrepreneur Henry SYNCK the New Idea Spreader Company of Mary Stone Cold Water, as a railway connection was available here. SYNCK had invented together with his father Joseph Oppenheim the first working manure spreader in the world, now - has been successfully established in Coldwater - along with other farm equipment. The company was sold several times in succession, the last owner ( AGCO ) closed the factory in Coldwater in 1999.

The Catholic community of Coldwater was founded in 1867. Your present church, Holy Trinity Church (Eng. Holy Trinity Church), was added in 1979 as a cultural monument in the National Register of Historic Places.
