Colin Murdock (footballer)

Colin Murdock ( born July 2, 1975 in Ballymena, County Antrim ) is a Northern Irish football player. The defender currently plays for Accrington Stanley and is a board member of the Professional Footballers' Association.

Club career

After school, Murdock went at the age of 16 years to Manchester United and graduated from the local youth academy. It was 1993, he achieved second place in the FA Youth Cup with his team. In parallel, he studied law in his native country. The following year, Colin Murdock managed the leap into the professional squad, but where it was never used. In 1997 he was transferred for £ 100,000 to Preston.

The change was his career very beneficial. He came to over 200 appearances for his new club and was able to celebrate the 2000 promotion to the First Division, together with then second-rate title.

2003 he moved to the Scottish first division club Hibernian FC 2004, he scored the decisive goal in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup against Glasgow Rangers.
