Colin Nutley

Colin Nutley ( born February 28, 1944 in Gosport to Southampton, England ) is a British film director who has worked in Sweden. Nutley is married to actress Helena Bergström, who often participates in his films. Both have two children, and Nutley has another son from a previous relationship.

After five years of training at the Portsmouth Art College, Colin Nutley worked in the 1960s, first as a graphic designer for a regional television station in England. He then worked as a freelance director for documentaries, music programs, series and films for ITV, BBC and Channel 4 Working as assistant director for the Deckare UPA series led Nutley first time to Sweden.

1987 Colin Nutley staged his first feature film Nionde kompaniet, which is about a group of young men who come to a bright business idea on entering the military service. 1990 saw the movie Black Jack, who is among other things of the same dance band in a small Swedish village.

In 1992, the film had Änglagård (German movie title Fanny's Farm) Premiere. The film is one of the most watched Swedish films and was twice awarded the Swedish Film Award Guldbagge, Best Film and Best Director. The sequel Änglagård - andra sommaren, had arrived Christmas 1994 in the cinemas and was just like its predecessor the crowds. In Sweden, he had a million moviegoers. The third Änglagård film ( Änglagård - Tredje Come gillt ), in which Colin Nutleys and Helena Bergström's daughter Molly Nutley plays a major role came in late 2010 in the Swedish cinema.

In 1998, the Nutleys Under solen film premiere. The film was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar in the category. Colin's films Sprängaren (2001) and Paradiset (2003) are both based on the same novels by Liza Marklund.
