Coll de Nargó

Coll de Nargó is a municipality in the Catalan comarca of Alt Urgell, in the province of Lleida. It was colonized by Spain in 1714 and has 583 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).

Coll de Nargó is located on the river Segre near the Oliana reservoir. From here, cause roads to the neighboring communities Ponts, La Seu d' Urgell, Isona and Sant Llorenç de Morunys.

  • Les Masies de Nargó (30 inhabitants)
  • Montanissell at the foot of Sant Joan mountains (28 inhabitants)
  • Sallent in the south of Sant Joan mountains (38 inhabitants)
  • Valldarques (15 inhabitants)

Demographics

The population of Coll de Nargó has been declining for a long time. In 1900, lived here in 1389 inhabitants.

Attractions

The 11th - 12th Century Lombard Romanesque church of Sant Climent has a rectangular tower from pre-Roman times.
