Bassella

Bass Ella is a municipality in the Catalan comarca of Alt Urgell, in the province of Lleida. It has 249 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) and is located at the confluence of the Segre and the Salada at the point where the road from Solsona to Cardona ( L- 301) crosses the road from Lleida to La Seu d' Urgell. By damming the Rialb reservoir, a large part of the 70.25 km ² of the municipal area was flooded.

Community structure

The municipality covers nine towns:

  • Aguilar (25 inhabitants), with the remains of the castle of Aguilar de Bassella
  • Altés (40 inhabitants), with the church of Sant Pere from the 19th century
  • Bass Ella (17 inhabitants), with the parish church of La Mare de Deu de l' Assumpció, which is also known as the church of La Mare de Deu de la Garrola
  • Castellnou de Bass Ella (7 inhabitants), is the municipal
  • La Clua (18 inhabitants), situated on a hill, with a Romanesque church from the 12th century
  • Guardiola (9 people), at the foot of the mountains Pubill
  • Mirambell (23 inhabitants)
  • Ogres (114 inhabitants), on the road to Solsona
  • Serinyana (1 people)
