Features

The brown face and white tensioner reaches a wingspan of 30 to 35 millimeters. The moths have creamy white wings that are pollinated yellow gray. On the front wings extend three curved and serrated brown-yellow transverse lines; on the hind wings there are two. The face below the sensor is brownish ( hence the name ).

The caterpillars are either light green with a fine, powdery dusting, or less often brown in color with dark spots on the back.

Occurrence

The moths are found from the Iberian Peninsula through Europe to the Amur region.
