Condorcanqui Province
Condorcanqui is one of seven provinces, which form the Amazon region in northern Peru. It is bordered on the north by Ecuador, to the east by the Region of Loreto, on the south by the province and the province Bongará Utcubamba and to the west by the province of Bagua.
The Condorcanqui Province is the largest province in terms of area of the Amazon region.
Division
This province consists of three districts:
- El Cenepa
- Nieva
- Río Santiago
Capital
The provincial capital is Santa María de Nieva.
Ethnic groups
The largest part of the province Condorcanqui consists of jungle and is mainly inhabited by the Aguaruna and Huambisa.
