Conor Clifford

Conor Clifford Paul (born 1 October 1991 in Dublin) is an Irish footballer who is currently without a club.

Career

Association

Conor Clifford began his career in the youth of Crumlin United, where he was active until 2007. In 2007 he moved to England and joined the youth academy of FC Chelsea. In June 2008, he got a full-time scholarship. During the 2009/10 season, he led the team of Chelsea Academy as captain. Also in the victory of the FA Youth Cup in the final against Aston Villa, where he scored a goal in the 2-1 victory. Chelsea won the title for the first time since 1961. In October 2010, he was loaned for one month at Plymouth Argyle. Just one day later, he played in the 2-1 win against Huddersfield Town made ​​his debut for Plymouth and thus his first professional game at all. Clifford played for the Irish U -17 and U-19 national team. Since 2009 he has been active for the U-21 national team. From the Irish Association Clifford was awarded the U-16 Player of the Year in 2006, as U-19 player in 2010.
