Yeovil Town F.C.

Yeovil Town ( officially: Yeovil Town Football Club ) - also known as The Glovers - is an English football club from Yeovil in the county of Somerset, who since the 2013/14 season, represented in the Football League Championship, the second English top flight.

History

The Yeovil Town Football Club was founded in 1895. He played more than 100 years in Non -League positions before 2003 reached the summit in the Third Division. For the first time nationally known was the club, as he headed the player coach Alec Stock in 1949 reached the fifth round of the FA Cup. There was, however, a clear 0:8 away defeat at Manchester United. The team was playing in the Southern League, which was won 1949-1966 four times. First time in 1979 reached the summit in the Alliance Premier League, the highest division below the Football League. After the rise in the league range 2003 2005 succeeded the walkover into the third English league. The largest club success in 2013 was the rise in the second English league.
