Conrad Brunner (physician)

Conrad Brunner ( born August 31, 1859 in Diessenhofen, † June 8, 1927 in Zurich, reformed, hometown entitled in Diessenhofen ) was a Swiss surgeon and medical historian.

Life

Conrad Brunner, scion of a family of doctors and pharmacist, was born on August 31, 1859 in Diessenhofen as the son of the physician and botanist John Brunner. Conrad Brunner began studying medicine at the Universities of Zurich and Leipzig, where he graduated in 1885 with the acquisition of the degree of MD in Zurich. Because then he completed a surgical training, especially with Rudolf Ulrich Krönlein. These took Conrad Brunner in 1888, study trips to Vienna to Theodor Billroth, Leipzig, Berlin to Ernst von Bergmann, Dresden and Munich.

As a result, Brunner launched in 1889 a private practice in Zurich. He also spent 1896-1922 as head physician of the Cantonal Hospital in Munsterlingen. He also acted in 1922 as co-founder of Thurgovian - Schaffhause Rischen lung sanatorium in Davos. In addition, Brunner taught from 1890 to 1897 as a lecturer in surgery at the University of Zurich.

Conrad Brunner, 1889 Clara married Margot, died on 8 June 1927 at the age of 67 years in Zurich.
