Continental O-300

The Continental O -300 (Series A, C & D) is a piston aircraft engine of the U.S. manufacturer Continental. It was an air-cooled 4-stroke boxer engine with six cylinders. The bore is 103.12 mm ( 4:06 inches) and stroke 98.55 mm ( 3.88 inch). Thus, a displacement of 4996 cc (301 cubic inches ) revealed. The engine with a curb weight of 112.8 kg ( 248.7 lbs) makes 145 hp at 2700 min -1.

History

The O- 300 1947 was from the Continental C -125 series further developed under the designation C -145 produced. The O -300 is a modernized C -145 version and was manufactured until 2004. In the 1960s, this engine also Rolls- Royce was built under license.

Just numbers do not exist. However, alone in the products manufactured by Cessna Aircraft Company 170 and 172 series machines around 55,000 Series C-145/O-300 were used.
