Convoy PQ 2

The convoy PQ 2 was an Allied Nordmeergeleitzug, which was compiled in October 1941 in Liverpool and essential war goods brought into the Soviet Arkhangelsk. The Allies suffered no losses.

Composition and assurance

The convoy PQ 2 was composed of seven cargo ships. On October 13, 1941 she left Liverpool ( Lage53.46 - 3.06) in the direction of Arkhangelsk ( Lage64.5540.48 ). Commodore of the convoy was the captain of the Orient City. The backup took the cruiser HMS Norfolk, the destroyer HMS Icarus and HMS Eclipse and the minesweepers HMS Bramble, HMS Seagull and HMS Speedy. In the White Sea, the minesweeper HMS Gossamer, HMS Hussar HMS Leda and more were added.

Course

The Germans were not sighted the convoy. He ran one without losses in Arkhangelsk on 30 October 1941.
