Convoy PQ 7

The convoy PQ 7A was an Allied Nordmeergeleitzug, which was compiled in December 1941 in the Icelandic Hvalfjörður and essential war goods brought into the Soviet Murmansk. The Allies lost a freighter 5135 BRT.

Composition and assurance

The convoy PQ 7A was composed of two cargo ships. On December 26, 1941, she left Hvalfjörður ( Lage64.36 - 21.69 ) towards Murmansk ( Lage69.0933.39 ). The Nahsicherung took over the trawler HMS Hugh Walpole and HMS Ophelia.

Course

On January 2, 1942 U 134 sank the freighter Waziristan ( 5135 BRT). The freighter Coldharbour reached, headed by the Soviet destroyer Uritzky, on 12 January Murmansk.
