Cook da Books were active in the 1980s British pop band.

History

Cook da Books was founded in 1980 in Fazakerley, Liverpool, and originally began as reggae quartet. Shortly afterwards, the film composer Vladimir Cosma an artist for the song Your Eyes to the movie La Boum 2 - Die Fete proceeds sought, the band was awarded the contract and was allowed to present the song during a performance in the film. The film is a teenage love story and the song an emotional pop ballad, composed by Cosma and written by Jeff Jordan. It was in France, the country of origin of the film, and in some other countries a hit, but not in their native England.

As a result, the four British tried to build a career with her own independent label and also toured as the opening act, among others, Men at Work and Joan Armatrading by the United States. But despite a series of single releases, they could end up no further success. A brief comeback saw the band, as the two La Boum films were first shown in German TV in 1987 and once again had great success. 1989 also left the band singer Peter Deary. Owen Moran and John Legget were well into the 90's into it with new musicians continue under the band name on before the band finally went apart. Some of the former members played after they have continued in other bands.
