Cool It Now is a song by New Edition from 1984. It appeared on their second album, New Edition.

Background

When the group in 1984 received a record deal with MCA Records, Vincent Brantley and Rick Timas wrote the title Cool It Now. In the production of the song much money was spent, the production of Cool It Now was more expensive than the entire debut album of the group. Finally then produced Vincent Brantley and Rick Timas the title, and fans of the group were larger. Following the publication on 27 August 1984, the song her first top ten hit in the U.S. was, after a few weeks even the highest position four on the Billboard Hot, 100 achieved the same Cool It Now was a number-one hit in the R & B charts ( her second in total). Subsequent publications of the group could not build on the success of Cool It Now, so the song is still her biggest success.

The song was at that time known by the rap singer Ralph Tresvant of passages. In the song, he raps the names of group members: ". Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, and Mike" Many years later, the name " Johnny" has been added yet.
