Coquet Stop Line

The Coquet Stop Line was a British, created during World War II defensive line. This defense system begins near the small town of Amble in Northumberland and runs along the River Coquet, which is also the namesake of the position. It was built against a potential German landing, which could have been different than the actual planned Operation Sea Lion threatens the North East of England from the north. The strategic goal of the line of defense was to slow a possible German advance in order to gain time for a crew of 30 km south Tyne Stopline. The position consisted of so-called pillbox bunkers.
