Tyne Stop Line

The Tyne Stop Line was a British, created during World War II defensive line. This defense system runs Redetal in Northumberland and from there to Newcastle upon Tyne. It was built against a potential German landing, which could have been different than the actual planned Operation Sea Lion threatens the North East of England from the north. The strategic goal of the defensive line was a possible German advance to stop here after it had been braked along the 30 km northern Coquet Stop Line. The position consisted of so-called pillbox bunkers.
