Corel Designer

The Corel Designer is a vector-based graphics editing software. The designers originally came from the company Micrografx and was first marketed under the product name in- a-vision. Only version 3 of the designer name was used. According to the version 8 Micrografx iGrafx has been renamed and acquired in 2001 by Corel. The program was named from 2002 under the Update 9:02 as Corel Designer. For designers always included the Picture Publisher, a raster -based graphics program, similar to Corel PhotoPaint Corel Draw. Picture Publisher has been licensed as a single application located on various OEM partners, for example, it was offered with various web hosting packages or the driver CDs from scanners or digital cameras was.

The last version produced by Micrografx was 9.0 in 2001. Later, this product is sold as Corel Designer 9:02. The current version is 16 ( " CorelDRAW ® Technical Suite X6 " with " Corel DESIGNER ® X6" ), which was released in March 2013. However, it is still frequently used as before with version 9.0 or 9:02, as many experienced users introduced by Corel in the new version changes ( esp. Corel Draw like look and feel ) and, for example, the insufficient dsf import filter for the opening and editing of old files up to version 9.0 ( such as the lack of import of the individual layers ) are dissatisfied.

The Corel Designer is especially suitable for creating technical drawings, but offers just as many features for graphic design.

Revision history and file formats

Normally, the old formats can be read by at least two versions of time. The import of old files almost always leads to changes in the drawing.
