Cormier Woods is a 175 acre ( 0.7 km ²) large nature reserve near the town of Uxbridge, Massachusetts in the United States and is managed by the organization The Trustees of Reservations.

Sanctuary

The history of the rustic farm can be traced back to the 1700s. Today, the area on which the farm is located, three centuries of agriculture represents. While in the middle of the 18th century, the emphasis was on agriculture in order to give the descendants of the first settlers of a livelihood, a comprehensive transformation began in the first industrial center of the United States, which is now considered as originating from the U.S., only 50 years later industrial Revolution is protected under the name Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor and extends from Worcester to Providence.

Today available to visitors 3 mi ( 4.8 km ) of hiking trails that lead through the grounds of the farm and through the adjacent forests and wetlands. As almost everywhere in New England also dominate oaks, birches and maples; on the northwest border of the named after James Cormier Reserve is also located an area with 80 ft ( 24.4 m ) to 100 ft ( 30.5 m) high Weymouth pines. The site provides a habitat for salamanders, frogs Forest, Bluebird, warblers and thrushes.
