Corydoras undulatus

The Wavy catfish ( Corydoras undulatus ( Latin: " undulatus " = with waves provided ) ) is an indigenous to the basin of the lower Paraná River and the coastal rivers of southeastern Brazil freshwater fish.

Features

Female Wavy armored catfish reach a maximum size of 5 cm, males remain smaller and slimmer. The Wavy catfish Corydoras has a typical shape but stretched than most other species. It has a yellowish to olivbräunliche staining. The sides are patterned by numerous dark spots and stains that come together especially in center of page to wavy lines. In between are gold-colored points. The gill covers are patterned with wavy lines. The belly is ocher. The fins are transparent and show some dark dot or line series. The top bone plate number on the sides of the body counts 21 to 23 plates, the bottom 19 to 20, males should have a dorsal fin with black lace.

Wavy armored catfish feed on worms, small crustaceans, insects and planzlichem material.

System

The corrugated armored catfish belongs to the Corydoras elegans species group that is likely to be spun off into the future of Corydoras and assigned to a new genus.
