Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol ( dt: Coast of the Sun ) is a coast in the south of Spain (Andalusia ). The Costa del Sol is bordered to the west by the Campo de Gibraltar ( Mediterranean coast of Cádiz province ) and in the east on the Costa Tropical ( Granada province ). Outside Spain, the entire Mediterranean coast of Andalusia is sometimes referred to as the Costa del Sol, but this is wrong. The Costa del Sol is limited solely to the Mediterranean coast of the province of Malaga, Manilva ( near Estepona ) to Maro ( Nerja ).

Climate

The subtropical climate provides year-round pleasant temperatures and the coast is also protected by mountains from the north winds.

Tourism

Since the 1960s, the Costa del Sol developed thanks to the climate and over 320 days of sunshine per year, a popular international tourist destination.
