Craig Ludwig

Craig Lee Ludwig ( born March 15, 1961 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player and current coach, who and in its active period from 1979 to 1999, including for the Montreal Canadiens, New York Islanders, Minnesota North Stars Dallas Stars played in the National Hockey League. His sons CJ Ludwig, Trevor and Tyler Ludwig Ludwig are also hockey players.

Career

Craig Ludwig began his career as a hockey player in the team of the University of North Dakota, where he was active from 1979 to 1982. During this period, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1980 in the third round than a total of 61 players from the Montreal Canadiens. For Canadians the defender was in the 1982/83 season his debut in the National Hockey League, where he made 25 templates in his rookie year in 83 games. In the season 1985/86 he won with Montreal for the first time in his career the prestigious Stanley Cup. Three years later, he failed with his team in the finals of the Calgary Flames.

After he had spent the season 1990/91 with the New York Islanders, the Americans joined the Minnesota North Stars to. The franchise he remained faithful even after his move to Dallas and the name change to Dallas Stars. For the Texans, he finished after the 1998/99 season in which he won the Stanley Cup for the second time, his active career.

In the 2000 /01 season Ludwig worked as an assistant coach with the Utah Grizzlies of the International Hockey League. In this function he worked in the following year with his former club Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League.
