Čremošné

Čremošné ( until 1927 slovak " Čriemošno " or " Čeremošné ", Hungarian Turócmeggyes - to 1907 Csremosnó ) is a municipality in the north - central Slovakia, with 94 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). It is located in Okres Turčianské Teplice, which in turn belongs to the district Žilinský.

Geography

The municipality lies in the traditional landscape Turz is on the southwestern slope of the Great Fatra in conjunction with the Kremnitz mountains, the creek Smolický creek. The center is located at the altitude of 650 m nm Čremošné is 4 kilometers from Turčianské Teplice and 30 kilometers from Martin.

In Čremošné is the Čremošné Tunnel, the longest railway tunnel in Slovakia.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1340. At first she was in possession of various noble families and was owned by the City Kremnitz 1520-1848.
