Crest-Voland

Crest- Voland is a commune of 390 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Savoie in the Rhone -Alpes.

Geography

The village of Crest-Voland, located at about 1200 m in the western slopes of the Mont Lachat on a ledge above the steep gorge that narrows the central valley of Arly. The municipal area stretches from the river bed of the Arly eastward up to the Col des Saisies and is bounded to the north and east of Nant Rouge, also a current flowing in a steep canyon mountain stream, which flows from the left in the Arly. Up on the mountain meadows and ski slopes above the village, the region is forested mainly.

Population

With 390 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Crest-Voland is one of the small communities of Savoy. History
