Cretheus

Cretheus (Greek Κρηθεύς ) was in Greek mythology the founder and king of Iolcus. He was one of eight sons of Aeolus ', the ancestor of the Aeolians, grandson of the first Greeks, Hellen, brother Sisyphus, Athamas ' and, among other things Deions, married his niece Tyro, daughter of his brother Salmoneus, giving it the twin sons of Neleus and Pelias, both sprung from an affair with Poseidon, with brought into the marriage. He fathered with her, among other things Aison of Iolcus. Thus he was the grandfather of Jason, leader of the Argonauts.
