Crivitzer See

The Crivitzer lake is an almost rectangular shallow lake and is situated on the territory of the same country town of Crivitz in the west of the county Ludwigslust - Parchim. Located along the city stands a greater peninsula in the lake. Very early on was on this peninsula a Slavic castle which later became the town was founded. On the south shore lies the Crivitzer hospital. The western shore is forested area of ​​the opening of the Office trench. It is used as a recreational area of the inhabitants by its urban location and it can be completely circled by partially developed hiking trails. The lake has a maximum length of 750 m and an approximate width of 500 m and drained via the Amtsgraben in the Barniner lake and continue on the Warnow in the Baltic Sea. The lake is popular with anglers.

The body of water is affected by nutrients and pollutants. A proposed reorganization of the lake failed in 2008 in the town council on the issue of funding.
