The parliamentary elections in Croatia in 2007 was held in the Diaspora on 25 November, and on 24 and 25 November. In choosing the 153 members of the Croatian Parliament were re-determined. To prevent fraud, such as the vote of deceased citizens abroad or Double Select, the 400,000 Croatian voters outside Croatia and Bosnia- Herzegovina have at least 14 days before the election to register in order to select allowed. The Croatian president announced the elections on 17 October, and the lists of candidates had to be submitted in the following 14 days.

The elections were ( send each 14 members in the Sabor ) in 10 constituencies within Croatia, a constituency for Croatians living abroad ( and up to 12 members of the parliament ask ) and a constituency for national minorities ( 8 MPs ) held. Lists of candidates have to achieve more than 5 % ( restrictive clause ) of the valid votes cast in at least one constituency to be represented in Parliament. Were entitled to vote 4,478,386 Croats, of which 405 092 abroad.

The twelve constituencies in Croatia

Since 1999, Croatia is divided into ten constituencies, each with 250,000 to 300,000 eligible voters. Each constituency can send up to 14 MP ( D' Hondt'sches procedure).

In XI. Constituency are up to 12 members with proportional representation chosen depending on the turnout abroad and in Croatia to Croats abroad represent ( " Diaspora constituency ") and in the XII. Constituency 8 members of ethnic / national minorities. This 3 seats are reserved for the Serbs.

From the Croatian political parties and independent lists 3,585 persons for elections ( 22 people for a mandate ) had been set up. There are 235 political party lists, lists 16 independent and 72 candidates for the minority of seats erected. Of the 2,512 candidates ( 70.07 %) men and 1,073 ( 29.93 %) were women. The Slovenian agency Mediana Fides According to the green list and a list of former independent MP Tonči Tadić are close to the 5 % threshold. The Green List has therefore 4.8% support in the constituency and I Tonči Tadić 4.1% in X. constituency.

At 11 clock 25 November 2007 17.91 % of the electorate had voted ( in 2003: 21.19 %). At 16 clock 1,514,072 or 48.31 % of the electorate had ( in 2003: 51.2 %) voted.
