The ovčar Hrvatski (pronounced hrwatski owtschar ) is recognized by the FCI breed from Croatia (FCI Group 1, Section 1, Standard No. 277 ).
Origin and History
The Hrvatski ovčar comes from the regions of Slavonia, Bačka and Baranja at the Hungarian border. It is closely related to the Hungarian Mudi. For centuries, these dogs are used as guard dog in the plains of Slavonia.
Description
It is equipped with up to 50 centimeters and 16 kilograms a medium-sized German Shepherd with free standing or overturned ears. The fur of the dogs is medium to long and soft, short on the head and limbs. It is curled up garter and black in color, sometimes with white markings.
