Crosa

Crosa is a municipality with 350 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Biella (BI ), Region Piedmont. Behind Miagliano Crosa is the municipality with the second smallest municipality in the Piedmont region. With 13.9% Crosa has the second highest proportion of foreigners in the province of Biella .. The largest group are the Romanians and Moroccans against Bosnians. The average age in 2011 was 44.4 years, the average income in 2010 at € 11,064, the birth rate was 5.8.

At the founding of the Kingdom of Italy in 1861, the municipality had 492 inhabitants, the maximum was reached in 1881 with 618. A decline was followed by a renewed increase in 1911, after the First World War in 1921 were 480 residents registered. Until 1961, the number rose to 602 in the next two decades, a decline of almost 50 % was recorded, the lowest level was reached in 2001 with 336.

The community belongs to the Comunità Montana Prealpi Biellesi. The neighboring municipalities are Casapinta, Cossato, Lessona and Strona.
