Crosby Garrett is a hamlet and civil parish in the Cumbria, England. By 1974, the place, the sooner occasionally Crosby Garret was written (with a " t" ) was in Westmorland.

The St Andrew 's Church in Crosby Garrett was built in the 11th century and then extended several times and rebuilt. The building was declared by English Heritage for Grade I protected monument.

The place had 1876-1956 a station on the Settle - Carlisle railway line. While the station was closed, the railway runs ahead on the route that passes through the place on a 100 m long viaduct.

On January 15, 1999 Fahrgastzug derailed on the trip from Huddersfield to Carlisle at the Crosby Garrett tunnel in the immediate vicinity of the settlement, since a landslide blocked the route. The derailed train towered into the second track on which an oncoming freight train, despite the warning could not stop on time to avoid a collision. In the accident, only the train crew was injured but none of the 22 passengers.

In May 2010, now known as the Crosby Garrett helmet parade helmet of the Roman cavalry was discovered by metal detectorists in the vicinity of the place. The bronze helmet is only one of three helmets of this type that have been discovered in England and is now in private ownership.
