Csökmő is a large village in the small area Berettyóújfalu in eastern Hungary. In the community, there are other settlements:
- Cirkópuszta southeast of the capital
- Kóróssziget northwest of the capital

History
First mentioned in 1219 in Váradi Regestrum (Latin: Regestrum Varadiense ) Varadinum and Várad are older name of Oradea. At the time of landscape shot 1782-1785 can be found at the presumed site of a settlement Csökmő Zekménÿ, directly adjacent to the lakes.
