Csorna
Csorna [ tʃornɒ ] ( German Gschirnau ) is a Hungarian city in Győr- Moson- Sopron in Western Transdanubia. It is the capital of the small area of the same name.
Location
The place is located on the Raab - Sopron Railway (Győr -Sopron ) and the railway line Hegyeshalom - Szombathely and the parallel European Route 65 Csorna is located about 30 km west of Győr.
History
The place name derives from the Slavic root word černá, ie the blacks. Until 1918, the village belonged to the county of Sopron.
