The Cudgegong River is a river in the middle of the Australian state of New South Wales. It rises east of Rylstone to the western slopes of the Great Dividing Range in the western part of the Wollemi National Park. From its source the river flows through to the western centers of Rylstone Lake Windamere northwest through the town of Mudgee. To the west of Gulgong, it changes its direction first to the west and then south, where it empties into Lake Barrendong and thus into the Macquarie River.

The reservoir Lake Windamere on the river has a water content of 368.12 million cubic meters, was completed in 1984 and serves the irrigation of the surrounding, agricultural land.
