Cult is the third studio album by the Finnish cello rock band Apocalyptica. Cult was released in 2000 on the music label Iceland Records and is the genre attributed Metal. They even prefer the title cello rock.

Music style

For the first time use Apocalyptica on the album as percussion. The cellos sound distorted here for the first time.

Overall, the album is a fine line between metal and classical music. The melodies show certain similarities to the songs Sepultura and Metallica, eg recalls the melody of Path to Master Of Puppets. The song Fight Fire With Fire and Until It Sleeps were taken directly from Metallica. In contrast to previous works, only three cover versions are included: the two mentioned Metallica songs and Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg.
