Curtis Lundy

Curtis Lundy ( born October 1, 1956 in Miami, Florida ) is an American jazz bassist, composer, producer and arranger of the post-bop.

Life and work

Lundy was known for his work with the jazz singer Betty Carter, in whose band he played with musicians such as Jack DeJohnette, Dave Holland and Don Braden. Lundy also worked with John Hicks, Bobby Watson, Steve Nelson Quintet with Johnny Griffin.

In 1988, Lundy his first album, Just Be Yourself. In 1991, he appeared as a guest musician with the album Underground of wind ensembles Twenty- Ninth Street Saxophone Quartet. Later, he took over as leader on the jazz label Justin Time Records albums Against All Odds ( 1999) and Purpose (2002), accompanied by John Hicks and Anthony Wonsey.

Lundy's sister is the jazz vocalist Carmen Lundy.
