Cus D'Amato

Constantine " Cus " D' Amato ( born January 17, 1908 in New York ( Bronx ); † November 4, 1985 in the Catskills, New York) was an American boxing coach. It is known as the inventor of the peek-a -boo Boxstils.

D' Amato was born in 1908 in the workers' district Bronx. His first Boxstudio - the Gramercy Gym he opened in 1939 in 14th Street in Manhattan. Cus D' Amato was a master of the ring technique. He promoted the careers of light heavyweight champion Jose Torres and the heavyweights Floyd Patterson and Mike Tyson.
